2015 ‘Icebreakers’ Season Previews

On Friday, February 6th and Friday, February 13th, 2015 the Queen City Roller Girls, Western New York’s premier Women’s Flat Track roller derby league, will make their debut within Buffalo city limits, as they stage their 2015 ‘Icebreaker’ games – previews of their upcoming home season at their new home venue, the Buffalo RiverWorks entertainment and event center located on the shore of the Buffalo River.

After 8 successful seasons in North Tonawanda, Queen City Roller Girls are excited to bring their brand of excitement to Buffalo at Buffalo RiverWorks, a new multi-purpose venue located at 359 Ganson St. RiverWorks will host the Queen City Roller Girls on a first-in-kind purpose built roller derby track.

These ‘Icebreaker’ games will act as previews of the sort of action that remains in store throughout the rest of the season, and will be some of the first events staged within RiverWorks, and will help introduce Buffalo to what will be in store when the schedule kicks off in full force beginning Friday, February 27th.

  • Friday, February 6th – Nickel City Knockouts vs Suicidal Saucies – In this rematch of the 2014 championship, the Saucies look for revenge on the defending champs. QCRG.net / Facebook
  • Friday, February 13th – Alley Kats vs Devil Dollies – The Kats and Dollies look to start their season out right with a win in their first games at the new venue. QCRG.net / Facebook
Both games will start at 7:30 PM, with doors opening at 7:00 PM. All tickets for this special preview are available at a discounted rate of $10 and at the door only. Concessions will be available, however seating and food options will be limited compared to our Grand Opening on 2/27. Additionally these first two games will be DRY events. Our apologies on the last point, beer will be flowing at our Grand Opening 2/27.
