With the move to Riverworks this January, The Queen City Roller Girls are becoming a bright light on the Buffalo skyline now more than ever. This year’s draft picks shine just as bright; the up-and-comers in the league bring a new kind of grit and enthusiasm to the experienced veterans, whose dedication made the move downtown possible. The mix is sure to make for an exciting, competitive season like we’ve never seen before.
Today we meet the newest Alley Kats. Stay tuned to meet our newest Devil Dollies (including our other new Furies) next week.
ALLEY KATS
#5150: Buenas Nalgas

Buenas Nalgas is a derby nomad, first skating with the Snake Pit Derby Dames in Ceour d’ Alene, ID in 2011, the Kootenai Roller Derby League in British Columbia from 2012-2013, and now the Queen City Roller Girls in her fourth year. While Buenas has found a new serenity in Western New York’s nature trails, on the track she is a predator with a reputable posterior. She blocks, jams, and has “a hard time following instructions on the first try.” She also makes the party happen on the Banquets Committee and loves a good league parade.
#4pc: NicNugget

NicNugget knows that derby is a mind game. For the Duluth, MN native, it’s all about focus and tricking the body into doing things it knows it shouldn’t be doing, like getting knocked on your butt five times and standing up a sixth. She says with the right attitude, the skills and footwork fall close behind. Of course, the first time Nic put on skates at a birthday party, she faceplanted the wall and ran over several small children. But with the stamina of a cyclist, the curiosity of a philosopher and a bloodstream full of caffeine, Nic has pushed herself in both mind and body to become a valuable asset to the Kats.
#589: T-Wrecks

Since crashing onto the scene in June 2014, jammer T-Wrecks has been tearing things up at scrimmages, cutting through a pack like a knife through a stick of velociraptor butter. The skater says she is proud of where she has come in a mere six months, as derby has slowly consumed her life. Fans will have to wait and see what kind of carnage she leaves on the new track. T also liked shopping with the fam.
#8: SlamUWell Jackson

SlamUWell Jackson is a blocker and joined Queen’s Court in 2013.
