PRESS RELEASE: Buffalo’s Queen City Roller Girls Pass 10,000 Tickets Sold Mark for 2016 Season!
BUFFALO, NY – Buffalo’s Queen City Roller Girls have passed the 10,000th ticket sold mark for this 2016 season, their 10th, crushing previous overall attendance marks. This season has also seen a new record single game attendance mark (1,316) and new pre sale records.
These numbers are not only great for QCRG, but are also among the highest within the modern era of women’s flat track roller derby which is played by over 400 leagues worldwide.
The Queen City Roller Girls have two games left on their schedule this year to push this number even higher – the final Lake Effect Furies game of the year this Saturday at 2pm at Riverworks and the 2016 QCRG Cup Championship on June 10th that will see the Devil Dollies and Alley Kats do battle.
For the Furies this will be their last home game of 2016 as they prepare their return to Playoffs to represent Buffalo. They are under the Division 1 cut off currently, but will need a good result to stay there.
For the Dollies and Kats, the Dollies will be looking for their 3rd ever QCRG Cup Championship while the Alley Kats are looking for their 1st ever.
QCRG PR Chair Dylan Powell stressed the sports obsessed culture of Buffalo, the venue at Riverworks and the great fans of QCRG in talking about these new records, “We have always had a great fan base in Western New York but making the move to Buffalo and having a world class venue like Riverworks has really helped us grow. We have some of the best fans in all of Women’s Flat Track Roller Derby and we as a league are committed to showing our fans we appreciate them by increasing our skill on the track and their experience at our games.”
