Derby Name/Names:
She-Devil
Born:
May 12, 2001
Affiliated Teams:
I skated in the junior program from 2010-2019. Currently I skate for the Lake Effect Furies, the Saucies and Team New York!
Questions:

1) What age did you first start roller skating?
I was born into a family of artistic roller skaters so I’ve always had skates on. While my mom was working at the rink she’d put skates on me while I was in my walker, I think it was to slow me down… but I don’t think that was successful hahaha. So I guess I was born with roller skates on!
2) What motivates you to continue skating competitively?
I know that I’m capable of doing a lot more, so the journey to reach my full potential definitely keeps me motivated. Coming into the adult league from juniors I already had some goals for myself to accomplish at some point in my derby journey. I’ve accomplished some things on my list so far, like skating on Team Nor’Easters at the Junior Olympic games in 2016, going to JRDA Champs my final year in juniors, making the Furies first try in June 2019, skating my first adult tournament at B-Day Bash in 2022 and going to WFTDA Northeast Regionals with the Furies!

My junior coach’s and some skaters on the Furies have skated for Team NY, as a junior watching them represent Queen City together on another team was so cool. I always knew I wanted to skate with Team NY one day, and now finally getting to represent Queen City on Team NY too is super crazy. I’m beyond grateful for all the things I’ve done in my almost 15 years of roller derby so far! Can’t wait to see what the future holds!
3) What sports did you do as a kid that you feel have improved your derby journey?
Besides artistic roller skating and aggressive inline park skating. I did track and field 3rd-12th grade, long jump was my favorite and best event. I played basketball 8th-10th grade and soccer 8th-12th grade.

4) Who are your role models in and/or outside of roller derby?
Someone I look up to a ton is Coop! She is dedicated, kind, intelligent and hardworking in and outside of derby! I often wonder if she’s human when she skates, it’s just so effortless and don’t even get me started on her edges!!! I’m extremely grateful to share the track with her!
5) What goals do you have for the upcoming season?
For Saucies I guess this seasons goal is the same as last season, to score as many points as possible! For Furies I make a different goal for every game based on who we are skating against, but just in general for all games my goal is to do at least one apex jump and have lead jams!

6) What’s your favorite meal to eat the night before a big game?
PIZZA!!!!
7) What advice would you give to a junior skater that is thinking about trying roller derby?
Do it! Roller derby is such an amazing sport and a great way to make new friends! So step out of your comfort zone and give it a try!
8) What is the most beneficial thing roller derby has improved in your personal life?
Personal life? To be honest I don’t really have a life outside of roller derby lol. Roller derby is pretty much my whole life and quite literally the only time I leave the house. I currently revolve my schedule around my derby lifestyle and I wouldn’t want it any other way!
9) What is a unique roller derby move that you would love to master?
I hate toestops… so anything toestop related I’d like to work on. Maybe learning how to do a cool toestop spin of some sort!
