How did you get involved with Derby?

When I first started transitioning in 2021, I knew I would need to make a new friend group, and I wanted meet queer women. I thought Derby would be the best and safest place to do all of that.

When did you join derby?

I started boot camp in September of 2023, but due to breaking my ankle after graduating boot camp I was out until starting boot camp again September 2024.

Where are you from?

I grew up in Florida, Kissimmee and Orlando.

What is your day job?

I work in a factory, I was actually just promoted to quality control operator.

What is the significance of your Derby Name and Number?

My Derby Name Rabbit came from the Rabbit Run books by John Updike, I’ve used this for everything the last 10 years or so. My number comes from the song “The Year 2525” parody in Futurama. I originally heard it as a parody in Futurama as “the year 252525”.This song makes me sad but in a good way.

What are your goals for yourself this year?

My goals are to play in a game and get drafted this fall.

Do you like blocking or jamming?

I love blocking! There’s something about being an immovable object after somebody crashes into you that just really appeals to me. The one court practice where we did this one jammer drill, I fell in love with jamming all over again.

Who is your favorite skater?

My favorite skaters are my Boot Camp Coaches Andi, Ubebee, and Suzy. They have been super supportive and there for me.

What is the hardest thing since joining Roller Derby?

The hardest thing was breaking my Right ankle right after graduating boot camp. I was scared, frustrated, and angry at myself.

What are your hobbies outside of Derby?

My hobbies outside of derby are building LEGOs, and model kits, especially Gundam

Do you have any advice for any new skaters?

My advice for new skaters is Falling is going to happen, let it happen! You will learn how to fall the right way when you join boot camp. “Don’t be afraid of falling!” It will be fun eventually.
